“Innovation has nothing to do with how many R&D dollars you have. When Apple came up with the Mac, IBM was spending at least 100 times more on R&D. It's not about money. It's about the people you have, how you're led, and how much you get it.” - Steve Jobs

Social Computing on interaction-design.org (preview)

I’m really excited to be able to get to share a preview of the next great entry into the new format of Interaction-Design.org’s exciting encyclopedia. A sort of disclaimer here is that I have been on  the advisory board of this new venture, which has been a tremendous honor and learning experience for me.

The new entry is on Social Computing by world renown HCI researcher from IBM Thomas Erickson. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Thomas a decade or so ago and found him to be one of the most thoughtful and holistic researchers in HCI I had met at that point in my career.

Here is a little teaser of one of the interviews that makes up a small part of the piece which is a hybrid format of text article, video interview and included accompanying commentary by peers in the field (including one of my faves on the topic Elizabeth Churchill).
