“Innovation has nothing to do with how many R&D dollars you have. When Apple came up with the Mac, IBM was spending at least 100 times more on R&D. It's not about money. It's about the people you have, how you're led, and how much you get it.” - Steve Jobs

How does your logo stack up?

It’s not often that your logo will be stacked tightly next to your competitor or rival, but I bet it will happen. In the case of conference sponsorship, it is guaranteed to happen. So something that graphic designers should think more about is the use case that a logo will be placed next to someone else’s logo.

Some logos just pop out like HUGE and GE.Surprisingly all images on the page (click on the image to go to the real page) are the same exact height. But their impact, legibility and message are not all equally weighted and valued.

So just something to think about when you design a logo for a company or brand. It won’t always stand alone and it won’t always stand in place where you are in full control of its visual context.
